Centre for Voluntary Service - St Albans District

Ahoy There!

Volunteering can:
*Keep you fit
*Help you make friends
*Maintain and learn skills
*Give you work experience
*Help you get on your feet
*Get you out into the fresh air

Volunteering opportunities can be short term, long term or over a special time like the festive season.

Donations are also very welcome! We have a couple of ways to make it as easy as possible for you to give financial aid to your community.

1. Cheques made payable to CVS St Albans will be used to promote, support and develop the voluntary sector in St Albans district.

2. Local groups have also helped us create a wish list for you to choose from e.g.
£3 pays for a 1 hour telephone call to a victim of crime
£10 will pay for a benefits outreach worker to travel 31 miles to visit an older person in need
£30 pays for a driver for a day to take disadvantaged people for an outing
£34 buys yellow wellington boots for the Royal National Life Boat Association
£50 provides a pack of information to schools to help them support bereaved pupils
£100 will pay for vet care and neutering for a puppy training to help deaf people.

And there are many more for you to browse on the Donation Wish List Feb 08_(20K)! Please contact wendy@cvsstalbans.org.uk for more information on volunteering financial support.

When you have made your choice, please send your cheque, made payable to the organisation of your choice, to CVS, 31 Catherine Street, St Albans, AL3 5BJ. Please enclose a note with your name and address and what you want your donation to buy. Thank you.
