Vetting and Barring / Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) Checks


To comply with the law, all organisations who work with vulnerable adults and children need to be aware that staff and volunteers must be screened.

From 12 October 2009, the Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) will run alongside CRB as an additional safeguard.

Volunteer Centre

An opportunity to advertise your volunteering opportunity to more than 1200 people looking to volunteer every year.

Advice and Guidance

We provide information and support on charitable and legal issues, funding, transport, development plans and training needs.

Consultation

Help us to influence local and regional policy, make your voice heard at networks, workshops, forums and a range of partnership events.

Representation and Liasion

We raise awareness of the voluntary sector through representation on a range of cross agency partnerships. We aim to provide a two-way channel of communication to strengthen the profile and understanding of the sector.

Community Lunches

Community Lunches are held as networking forums for members, featuring guest speakers on topical issues.

Funder Finder

A range of computer databases are available to identify potential funding sources. Our funding and development officer is also available for advice and consultation.

Office Services

Small groups often can’t afford to buy office equipment or services. The CVS offers a solution for its members. Let us help you with your photocopying, collating, faxing, scanning, publications, presentations and mailings. Click here

Publicity

We offer free publicity for community groups through weekly articles in the Review newspaper and web pages on the internet.

Reference Lending Library
